A look at the future of innovative therapy: Petrovax Pharm introduces young people to the modern biopharmaceutical industry

Petrovax Pharm took part in the International Festival of Youth in Ekaterinburg, presenting an interactive stand titled “The World of Biopharmaceuticals: Where Tomorrow’s Therapies Begin”. Visitors explored a scale model of a modern pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and learned about the company’s research activities and opportunities for professional development in the industry.

Advances in medical science were among the key topics at the forum. In his address, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko spoke about the development of innovative cancer vaccines in Russia that could significantly improve outcomes for patients with cancer. He highlighted the importance of assessing the efficacy and safety of new approaches, developing the necessary production capacity and steadily expanding access to innovative therapy.

Providing patients in Russia with access to advanced cancer treatments is one of Petrovax Pharm’s priorities. The Russian Ministry of Health recently approved a new indication for the innovative PD-1 inhibitor Areima® (INN: camrelizumab): the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. The medicine had previously been approved for the treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer, esophageal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Full-cycle production has been localized at Petrovax Pharm’s manufacturing facility in partnership with the N.F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

During a tour of the exhibition, Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the IFY2026 Organizing Committee, and Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko learned about the company’s achievements.

The company’s interactive stand brought its vision of the future of biopharmaceuticals to life. The “Miniature factory” scale model showcased the facility’s size and advanced technology, while “Teleport to the Factory” offered visitors a VR tour of the complex. The touch-controlled “Hologram of the Future” installation introduced guests to the company’s research and development center, medicines and manufacturing operations. The program also included the game “A Molecule’s Journey”, a “Selfie with a Molecule” photo zone and quizzes with prizes.

The company placed particular emphasis on opportunities for students and young professionals. Visitors learned about internship programs and career paths, discovering how knowledge of science, technology, manufacturing and business can be applied in the biopharmaceutical industry to help create the therapies of the future.
