Petrovax Pharm joins industry discussion on expanding access to innovative therapy at Forum in Uzbekistan

Petrovax Pharm took part in the 5th International Pharmaceutical Forum of Uzbekistan, held in Tashkent on June 11–12, 2026. The event brought together more than 250 delegates from over 20 countries and served as a platform for discussing key areas of pharmaceutical industry development in Central Asia.

The main topic of the forum was the strategic development of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical market through 2030. Participants discussed initiatives to incentivize local manufacturing, attract investment, improve the regulatory landscape, introduce innovative medicines, and ensure sustainable industry growth.

Particular attention was paid to expanding patient access to modern therapy. Experts noted that, alongside the development of local manufacturing, one of the key factors for further market growth is the creation of effective mechanisms for bringing innovative medicines into the healthcare system.

As part of the forum’s business program, Ilya Sokolov, Head of Export at Petrovax Pharm, delivered a presentation. Speaking at the plenary session «Eurasian Pharma 2026: Reassembling the Business Model of International Companies,» he highlighted the rapid pace of regulatory reforms in the region and emphasized the importance of creating transparent mechanisms for patient access to innovative therapy.

"Uzbekistan is demonstrating rapid development of its pharmaceutical market: reshaped authorization pathway, shorter timelines for market entry, and a strategic focus on localization make the country one of the most dynamic in the region. To translate this progress into real patient access to innovative molecules and technologies, the market needs a transparent extra-formulary access pathway, an accelerated mechanism for original medicines, including orphan, targeted, and first-in-class therapies, which by definition cannot be promptly incorporated in existing formularies and protocols,"
said Ilya Sokolov.

At the same time, according to the expert, each country’s retail market requires an individual approach: success is built on local solutions rather than a single template for the entire region.

For Petrovax Pharm, Uzbekistan is one of its largest business segments. Today, the company exports Grippol® Plus and Grippol® Quadrivalent vaccines, Polyoxidonium® and Longidaza®, as well as dietary supplements to the country.

Participation in the forum underscored Petrovax Pharm’s commitment to building strategic partnerships in the region and finding solutions that will help expand patient access to innovative treatments.
