Petrovax Group made first vaccine shipments for National Priority Health Project
On July 31st, Petrovax Group initiated operations to fulfil its government order obligations. The first 400 thsd vaccine doses were shipped to Russian remotest regions.
«We have already started shipping Grippol Plus to Russian regions. All operations are on schedule. I am sure that we will be able to cover the Russian population with influenza vaccine within the deadline set by the government», said Petrovax Group Director General Arkady V. Nekrasov.
It is planned that through the end of 2009, Petrovax Group will manufacture 9 m vaccine doses, of them 6,6 m doses for the National Immunization Schedule. The supplies for the latter will be made in several stages, i.e. 1-31 August, 1-30 September, and 1-31 October 2009.
The new preservative-free influenza vaccine Grippol Plus will be supplied to 83 Russian regions.
For the first time in the epidemiological season 2009-2010, within the framework of a government bidding, is was decided to introduce the second lot, i.e. a preservative-free inactivated subunit influenza vaccine for children immunization. The winner was influenza vaccine Grippol Plus developed and manufactured by Petrovax Group.
Grippol Plus is a preservative-free vaccine produced in disposable single-dose syringes using advanced high-tech equipment that conforms to the international GMP EU standards. A sound efficacy and safety evidence base is available for this medication use both in adults and children. Over the immunization season 2008-2009, Grippol Plus has proved its high efficacy and safety.
This year, besides Grippol Plus, Petrovax Group facility will also manufacture innovative seasonal influenza vaccine Grippol Neo. This is the first local vaccine developed using breakthrough cell technologies. As soon as in September 2009, 1 m Grippol Neo doses will be marketed in Russia.
