Petrovax Pharm presents immuno-oncology innovation at opening of new Moscow City Oncology Hospital No. 62 Complex in Skolkovo

On 24 June, Moscow hosted the opening ceremony for the new treatment and diagnostic building of Moscow City Oncology Hospital No. 62. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Petrovax Pharm presented an innovative immuno-oncology solution during the ceremony.

At the exhibition of advanced medical technologies and equipment, Petrovax Pharm President Mikhail Tsyferov and the company’s Vice President for Corporate Communications Kirill Danishevsky presented the immuno-oncology medicine Areima® (camrelizumab), the first PD-1 inhibitor manufactured in Russia on a full-cycle basis, including active pharmaceutical ingredient synthesis, in partnership with the N.F. Gamaleya NRCEM. The medicine is already used to treat esophageal, nasopharyngeal, and lung cancer in Russia. In August, camrelizumab is expected to be approved for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer.

Andrey Kaprin, chief oncologist at the Ministry of Health of Russia, noted the importance of the solutions presented for the development of cancer care in the country.

"Together with the N.F. Gamaleya NRCEM and our Chinese partners, we enhanced and fully localized the best-selling checkpoint inhibitor of the past 10 years. It has already demonstrated efficacy across several oncology indications. The medicine is included in the Essential Drug List (EDL) and is priced below biosimilar foreign drugs,"
emphasized Kirill Danishevsky.

The program to help for Russian patients with triple-negative breast cancer, implemented by Petrovax Pharm, deserved special attention.

"As part of this initiative, the medicine will be provided free of charge to all patients in need by decision of the medical commission. In most cases, these are young women for whom the availability of camrelizumab has opened up additional treatment options without radical surgery. We hope that Hospital No. 62 will become one of the sites helping patients with access to innovative therapy in the presence of appropriate indications,"
noted Kirill Danishevsky.

The opening of the new Hospital No. 62 complex marks an important step in the development of Moscow’s oncology care system, expanding access to high-tech medical care for thousands of patients. Petrovax Pharm looks forward to further productive cooperation with the hospital in pursuit of a shared goal: bringing modern treatment approaches into clinical practice to improve outcomes in oncology care.
