Russian market gets new Venarel® women's health products

Women face sensitive health-related issues at different times in their lives. Irregular menstrual cycle, conception problems, pregnancy and postpartum recovery. These situations require the body to have extra protection. Petrovax designed its new range of Venarel® dietary supplements specifically to support women’s health.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine disorders among women of reproductive age, occurring in 8-21% of females in this age group[1], with up to 70% of cases remaining undiagnosed[2].
This disease can be one of the causes of infertility[2] and is associated with various metabolic and hormonal disorders that can lead to acne, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, depression, endometrial cancer and some forms of breast cancer[3].
Insulin resistance, among other things, results in PCOS as well as metabolic syndrome, along with genetic and environmental factors[3]. Therefore, a healthy lifestyle, including exercise and a balanced diet, is as important as medications. The use of substances such as inositol has also shown positive effects on hormones and the menstrual cycle.
Launched in December this year, the new product Venarel® Inosit offers a unique combination of ingredients, which includes inositol, folic acid, vitamin D3, manganese, alpha-lipoic acid and chromium. The product can help to normalize the menstrual cycle, support metabolic balance and improve ovulation.
The properties and safety inositol possesses have been studied in 440+ clinical studies and 110+ systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Inositol is included in international guidelines for the management of patients with PCOS. Russia has been reviewing the option of including the inositol supplement in its clinical guidelines for the treatment of PCOS since 2024. Studies have demonstrated that when patients with metabolic diseases take inositol, it significantly reduces triglyceride, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol[4] levels and has a positive effect on the body mass index[5] and on various pathophysiological aspects of gynecological diseases[6]. Chromium at a dose of 200 µg lowers testosterone levels and has a favorable effect on insulin resistance and body mass index reduction in women with PCOS.
Another dietary supplement — Venarel® Prenatal — covers all stages of pregnancy: from planning to the end of breastfeeding, and also supports women’s health during the postpartum recovery period. This vitamin and mineral complex for pregnant women was developed in accordance with the current clinical guidelines of the Russian Ministry of Health "Normal Pregnancy"[7], WHO[8] recommendations on nutritional anemia and the norms of physiological requirements for each trimester10.
Clinical guidelines[7] recommend that a patient planning a pregnancy should start oral potassium iodide (200 µg daily) 2-3 months before pregnancy and continue it until delivery. This way the patient can correct iodine deficiency and prevent neurogenesis disorders in the fetus.
In addition, WHO guidelines state that both pregnant women and people at risk for latent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) should have preventive doses of iron prescribed. For pregnant women, the iron dosage is 30-60 mg throughout the pregnancy period.
